The reason for my joining the U.M.4. was becausc my father had been a member for years, and liked the U.M.W,. I was willing to go aloug with him, and that is the reason I joined, "In the fall of 1937, I saw in the paper that the mine . was to be reopened, I was working in Springfield, and didn't go back to the mine at that time.
