LEIS, ET AL bic 62D _ IT“PUIN: WITH “Regarding the wage scale trouble, I was expecting to get ’ “ Gia the back pey, but I know nothing about what was going to ° = Teontinus be done by ELSHOFF or the PMA officials to get the back pay. . "I know some of the men who were apeitating for Uy in mine “B" both f before the minc closed on strike and after it opened in November, 1959. Theso mon were as follows: JOE ALBANESE SOR (COTTON) ANANIAS ANDRE SCHRELEVIOUS JOH! SIRTOUT DONINIC PASCUALE “CHARLES BOv.LINGGREEN PETE CARTER “JAMES “EALE FRANK AUSTIL 7” TOKY PLOTCH *T attended the PMA meeting held on May 11, 1937. I learned this was a special mecting from the PMA Pit Committeo. FIn the meeting the five men were thrown out of PMA becouse of the aggzitating they were doing at the mine. I voted to throw theac men out of Ful and everybody else at the meeting voted the same way, Kost of the PMA members present at this meeting including myself, got up and told how thess men tried to get us to join UMy. I don't believe the five men ¥ere at this mosting. "The PMA miners who didn't attend tho meeting on Msy 11, 1937 were told about what happened the next morning at tho mine. * "Tr nt dace went lh il = 9 Wine 1M ot ALO A. I think tho coal cars wero shorted for two reasons. Thosc reasons wero as follows: Bccause ELSHOFF would not dis- charge the five men who vert thrown out of Pitt, and because ELSHOFF rould not give us our back pay. sO fe BF “.8 best as I remembcr it, it was about Hey 14, 19357, about two days after the coal cars wero shorted that I went to Mine "B" and all of the PMA men wero there too. ¢ 411 wanted to go to work, but Oscar Falcetti would not let us go to work unicss we joined UM.. I learned it was this way because the PMA Pit Committes wont to ELSHOFF's office to sce about working, about the back wages and othor things, and I hoard that moat of the twelve men including TONY PLOTCH were in ELSHOFF's office at that time. - 417 - eee ce eee ae Nee A Et ER EO NAO LE I AECL IY CT A EA I IE IT TN I Ll
