Srine- one told me sometime that day that the mine was on strike, — everyone looked like they were going home so I went home. No one told me why Hine "Bt was on strike and I did not know the reason. So far as I know there was no intention on the part of miners to strike that day. I Saw no coal cars loaded short the day of the strike, "I think I signed two PUA petitions in the summer of 1937. I do not rember much about the petitions and I cannot remember where I was when they were sipned. No one threatened me if I did not sign. "I did not sign a UMW petition in the summer of 1937. “I do not know of the formation of a new UMW union in the surnmer of 1937. "Sometime in Sept. 1937 I heard PHA had a picket line at Mine "B" and I went to picket in order to enjoy myself. I acted as a picket off and on for ahout two months. I was not forced to be a picket. So far as I know no persons acted as pcikets except Mine "B" employees. There was no Violence during the time I acted as a picket. An injunction was obtained to prevent picketing. I was not present when the injunction was served and do not know the attitude tovard the injunction. "I did not know of Mine "B" attempting to re-open in Dec. 1937 or Jan. 1938. - nl vo election was ted in the NIRB election Dec. 15, 1937 for PMA. I think the fai and I was allowed to vote any way I wanted to. nin the last part of 1939 I received notice to return to work at Mine "B". I returned to work and received a job as track man a short time later. I did not see the result of any large fires on my return.to Kine "B', there were a few,cave-ins. Several months after I returned to work at Mine "B" Charle hanon and a man nam sked me at Mine *B? if I would join UL". I informed them I did not know if I wanted to join or not as I was PMA at which time they stated if I did not join I may be too late. No one threatened me if I did not join Ui. Several months after I went back to work I saw bs SN utes after someone beat him very badly, I do not know who hin. oe -: beat while he was in his room at Mine "B"..
