Re: JOHN L. LEWIS, ET AL.
INTERVIEW WITH to the Mine SS" matter.
LECNARD C. BAJ
(continued Mr. BAJORE stated that it was his impression that
whatever RAY EDMUNDSON said in connection with the
Mine "B" matter, CARL ELSHOFF went along with, and conversely, whatever
HOFF ceaid in connection with the matter EDMUNDSON went along with.
Concerning the December 15, 1937 election after which UMW
claimed fraud in connection with the election, Mr. BAJORE said that he
was familiar with this claim on the part of UMW, and that he, as a matter
of fact,at that time, caused an investigation to be made in connection
with the election and found no fraud.
Reference is made to Bureau letter dated August 23, 1943, wherein !
the Criminal Division ms advjseed that a mem> written on October 8, 1937,
by BAC QRK stated that TOBE DORERTY was a member of the Steel Worker's
Organization Committee and had suggested to BaJORK that R&Y EDMUNDSON of
the UM. of A was perhaps willing to reiterate his previous offer to oper-

EDEUNDSON and B&JQRE together.
He stated if his recollection was correct negotiations with the

Concerning the name of "BERTHA", who supervised the election of
December 15, 1937, Mr. FAJORK stated that JOHN AA was then Ficld f
Examinor for the NLRB. He said that at the prdsont time, or at least the -
last time BAJORK knew of his whercabouts, BERTHA was working either at , fA
Pekin or Peoria, Illinois, with the Keystone wire Company or one of their PE
subsidiaries, and lived in a small town between Pekin and Peoria.
Mr. BAJORK was asked as to whether there would be any question
as to whether members of the PA. Union would lose their status as miners
for Minc “B" after the strike had progressed for some time, and after the
extension of the PMw contract had expired, ond subsequent to or prior te
ELSHOFF's signing of an agreoment with Ut. Mr. EAJORK stated there was 1
