"Prior to the organization of the P, 1932, I heard of
some trouble in the U.M.ai. I was ] ; a and didn tt
pay any attention to it, and really le about it.
I really don't know the reason for the organization of P.M.4., and
I took no part in the organizing of the P.M.s. From 1932 to 1937,
conditions at the mine were satisfactory. I heard or saw nothing
which might have shown that the management of line B was in favor
of the U.N.w., rather than P.1.A. As far as + know, the men were
entirely satisfied with the P.MAey for I hea rd no complaints
"I don't remember any P.M.4a. meeting the night before the
strike, and I don't remember hearing anything about the meeting
the next day. <n the day of the strike, I went to work, and
didn't know anything about the strike until I had finished work
for the day. IJ heard that men had been loading their cars short,
but don't knuw the reason for it. I also heard that some men in
the north part of the mine "ad walked out, I went right home,
