i I first
have never he a Union office,
I started at Mine About 1936. was a charter member of P.M.A. because
the U.M.%. local to which I belonged went to P.M.A. in 1932,
"From the time I startcd at ‘ine "B" to the time of the strike I
had no chance to observe relation between P.M.A. & Elshoff. I never heard
the management favor J.M.7,. in any way however. There wore no unusual
disputcs betveen the local officials and the members so far as I know.
So far as I know therc was no racketeering by the local officials, I don't
think that in this period I ettonded more than 5 meetings this was because
of the time it took to go to Springfield to attend. Concerning the
Frogressive men who vcore sontenced for bombing and such I certainly
dent think they did all they were sceused of. While I was there the tmnion

From the time I went to Nine B up te the time of the strike I never
saw U.M.W. picket the mine. I heard that there were some men in the P.M.A.
a who wore trying to switch the men to U.M.7. I never saw any literature
-_ distributed by U.M."). I never heard of ELSHOFF giving any parties for
U.M.w. officials.
"IJ rember that just before the mine closed we were working under
a temporary agreement. As I recall therc was some kind of a settlement.
