Some continue of the organizers refused to come to the meetings _ wnless they were suspended or expelled. There was : 2 rumor that each one of these organizers got $2,000.00 apiece for they. work, The Co, was notified that the suspended men were no longer mombor, and askcd to dismiss the expelled members, This the Co. rofused to do. “The mon wore dissatisfied because the Co, wouldn't Mire the expelled members, and because of the back pay situation s on the day of the strike Mey 12, 1937 lots of the mon loaded short care of coal, I was down in the mine digging and the first I knew of the strike was when we were called out on top about 2 pm by the PMA Board Member. No orders were given to load coal short, the men just did that by themsolves,. "I recall going to the Board Members Office about two weoks after the strike and signing a slip showing that I wanted PMA os my bargaining agent. "I don't rcceall when the picketing or set down strike startod but I participated in both for most of the time that they went on. I was at the mine when we were put off by the injunction. I didn't like it and figured that we were whipped then. "Soon after the set down strike I voted in the NLRB clection which the Progressives won 404-25, This eloction wos fair and square. I recall & pamplet being passed out but don't recall what it said or who passed it out. "I have no knowledge of anyone trying to reopen the mino either before or after the NLRB election. “During the period wo were out on strike I worked on WPA ond was working there when I got a lettcr to come back to Mine B.
