INTRRVIAD ITH no union, and later the Pu. got the contract
and still leter, the JM” got the contract. f
joined the PM. at the Jefferson Mine when the
my, hod the contract, 3 de met recall the exact
date of joining the PM. as that mine for a time did not have a union. I
recall that I wos a member of the PM. when J transfered from the Jefferson
Mine to Mine B about 1936, J was instructed to report to work at Mine B
by the Top boss at the Jefferson mine whose name ~. I
continued to work at Mine B. as & PM, member until it closed OM moy 12, 1957.
“From 1936 until Mine B closed in Mar, 1937 I was not familiar
with the feelings of Falcetti or Zlshoff regarding either union. The
closing of the mine wes a complete surprise to me, Shen I worked at the
Jefferson mine under the PM,, thet mine wes in Receivership and the opera-
tor did not pay us 100% of our pay. However, the PM, continued to
take the full amount of dues end assessments out of my wages. I there-
fore did not like this and felt we were not being treated feirly. I
continued to work just to make « living and not becausc I liked the PM.
I got my full psy et Mine Bund there wus no unfair treatment. JI can
only say aogeinst the PMa, thet at the Jefferson mine, prior to 1936,
thet union did not treat thcir members fairly bocause of tho above reason.
"I wont to very fow U1, or pu, moetings. The only office J ever
held in s union was of the If 7 for about three months in

"T did net know if these men or any other men wore orgenizers or
agitators for the UM., ct Mine B. No om contncted me on the matter
of joining up with the Tu.

"I did not ettend the PMA meeting of May 11, 1937, but I heard
the next dey thet some of the Ww, members were expelled. I heard
this by word of mouth ut the mine.
“TY knew somo coal curs were loaded short, but J never knew why,
I worked on top at the time, and did not have any knowledge of what wns
going on below. I signed the MY. petition of Muy 26, 1957 to show J
