He furnished the following signed statement: oa “Springfield, Til September 7, 1943, ms; name is fF I was born at ake the following statement to and , who have identified themselves to me to be pecial Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. No promises, threats, or consideration of any kind has been made to me to have me sign this statement. "I started to work at Mine Bin July 1940. My father was working there at that time and took me out to work. I had been working at the Jefferson mine before I went to Mine B. It was a UM mine, and I was a member of the UMW when I went to work out there at ine B. The Jefferson mine was the first mine that I had every worked at. ‘while I was at Mine B, I did not see amy violence or fights of any kind. I did not hear anything about organizing at Mine B. I thought it was already a IM mine, and I did not talk to anyone about switching, and no one talked to me about the unions, I did not see any organizing on company property. 1 heard about such things going on, but do not know of it personally. I voted at the election held for mine B at the Armory in 1941. That was a fair election as far as 1 know. I never saw any preference or favoritism of the company for one union over the other.
