It is believed he would make & poor atemas nee a mrt witness. There is being set forth below the signed statement executed by i "I, make the following voluntary statement to pecial Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investi-~ a and pation, No threats or promises have been made to induce me to make any state- "7 ment. "I was born & came to the U. §. in Pd I became a citizen in now reside at I joined ana ¢thawe we rT E e nt in ne Army. After e rs . fee = 8k te * the U.fh.. In for apout two year first met Falcetti. Mine which is no 8 that I went to panther Creek #1 and then to Peabod I in about when he was longer operating. I used m quite a DID 2 m and used to see him a lot after the mine shut down. I have never woeked in a mine operated by progressive men. When the state went progressive in 1932 I was in a €.C.C. Camp and never joined their union. I went for over 8 years without working in a mine-~I just worked at odd jobs. In the early part of 1940 I went out to see Falcetti three or four times before he finally gave me a jobas a digger, and I'm still working at Mine B. Faleetti didn't ask me if I belonged to a union. He knew me quite well and mew I had been in the U.M.W. I believe I had worked there a few days when Sammy Albanese came to me and asked me to sign a U.M.V. card, which I did. I was never asked to join the progressive union, T heard about a lot of men being beaten up, but I never saw any fighting while I was there. Nobody ever threatened me or beat me up or forced me to join any union. I attended my last union meeting about a month ago. aI worked at Panther Creek from about MMMMBend curing tha‘ time Falcetti did not work for Panther Creek. "This statement has been read to me vy Se : it is true to the best of my memory. ; Witnesses Special Agents, FBI U. S. Dept. of Justice" ~ 226 -
