On 3/22/90,L__————m'+iYL:«dAdministrative Assistant to
Congressman JOHN P. MURTHA, reported that a threatening letter
had been received through the U.S. Mail on 3/22/90, at
Congressman MURTHA’S office in Somerset, PA.[__|stated letter
contained a threat to Congressman MURTHA’S life. The letter was
postmarked 3/21/90, and the return address on the envelope
listed the sender as[-————Céd Of Somerset State Hospital,
Somerset, PA.
Officials at the Somerset State Hospital confirmed that
subject is currently a patient at that insitution. Officials of
the hospital advised that subject has been diagnosed as a
chronic schizophrenic and has been continuously treated at
Somerset State Hospital and Fairview State Hospital from 1983
through the present time.
