of the same series appearing in the same paper dated 6/23/63 entitled
"Reopen Towers Case, Sift Call Girls* Link to UN Aides,” by James D,
Horan and Dom Frasca, and my memo points out unfounded inferences made,

This second article is almost a complete repeat of fhe first
article. It once again makes reference to the Harry Alan Towers case, r
involving Maria Novotny, Towers, a former British TV producer, was
arrested on 3/3/61 by the New York City Police Department 2 ng with
Maria Novotny and both were held on prostitution charges, 3/7/61,
a Federal complaint was filed against Towers charging him wjjn violatio
of the White Slave Traffic Act. umped $5,000 Federal bail and
$5,000 New York City bail in lattes 1, 1961, and subseqpently
entered Iron Curtain countries, one. couhtry- pened ‘was Czechasiovakia,
Novotny also departed the U. S. We were not derelict in ou¥F duties
when Towers and Novotny fled. We had no reason to surveil Towers and
Novotny was an INS responsibility. Federal process has been outstandin;
