Memorandum to Mr. Adams Re: JOHN ROSELLI ey SA On the afternoon of August 4, the above information was furnished to Assistant Attorney General Richard Thornburgh and to William Lynch, Chief of the Organized Crime Section, Criminal Division, Assistant Attorney General Thornburgh stated that there did not appear to be any violation of Federal law, that we had a missing persons case, and there would be no Obstruction of Justice. Mr. Lynch felt there would be no Obstruction of Justice unless there was some definite information to the effect that harm befell Roselli because of his testimony which in this case occurred many months ago. Mr. Thornburgh felt this case should be closely followed and that be interviewed to find hornburgh felt that this matter sho ollowed with local authorities but we should not at this time conduct a real active investigation. -3-
