At approxi- mately 4:00 p.m. they arrived at Port Kaituma, which e airport located outside of the Jonestown compound. — the pilot radioed to determine if they could ns 1 the airport and were advised that it was too muddy; however, the pilot flew down and observed that the airport was safe to land and, therefore, landed at Port Kaituma. Upon disembarking, various Jonestown people were observed in the immediate vicinity and appeared to be hostile. One person was carrying a shotgun at that time. So at that time, the only individuals who disem- barked were Congressman LEO RYAN, along with Attorneys GARRY and LAYNE. Also allowed to disembark was Congressional Aid JACKIE SPIEIR. ,.,8 rul
