How little people are sometimes! Mr. Weiss (2?) spent an hour this morning with mo & he is really a big person! Mr. Weiss told me his daughter had a bad time & he's (illegible) trying to get a job in Washington, Melvyn Douglas came to see me lest night saying that he had heard he might not be allored to go to officer's training school because of his past record & another man was denied his commission the last day because he had been a labor organizer. ~ Today's P.M. carries a story on the War Dept. School (illegible) which grew from my suggestion of investigation I surmise & is rather (illegible). I feel, as you gather, a bit depressed, but it makes me want to fight harder. I spoke at Barnard this noon and now mst go to the Girl Scouts. Hildur Coon (7) is going to Rocketter instead of June.
