Om the evening of June 7, 1938, I afforded Mr. Gowen a seven course

advised me that he was positive a letter would be directed to Mr. Cordell
advising hin of the highly successful visit of the representative of the

iI arrived at Southampton preparatory to sailing on the SS President
- Roosevelt and Vice Consul Paul Cameron Reddicun was there to meet me and render
any assistance possible. -
It ds suggested that a letter of appreciation be prepared for the
Attorney General's signature and directed to Mr. Cordell Hull, advising bin
of the services of the members of the American Exbasay in London. This letter
4s prepared and attached.
