During August, 1952, only 6 months after the founding of the Wottonal Conatttee to ‘Secure Justice tn the Rosenberg Case, a Uidvest t Conference on the Rosenberg Case” was held at Ghioago, Illinota. During the sonference fo =—sa= eee Fre es ort of the National Comatttee was read which reflected that stnce its tn- ceptton the HCSJRC hod clready distributed approztmately 400,000 pteces of literature. It waa further reported to the conference that the Mattonal Office of the Committee Aad already seoured about 35,000 signatures for vartous petittona and it wos tndtcated that the Midwest afftltatea of the Committee would undertake to obtatn at least €0,000 addittonal stgnatures by the end of October, 1952. A financtel report was delivered setting forth that since November, 1951, the WCSTRC had ratsed opproztmately ‘$50, 000 in contributions. Some $30,000 of this amount was recetued through the matls, $10,000 ot large publto meetings, $5,000 from enall meetings and house parttes, and §5,000 from literature sales. Expenditures of the NCSIRC through July, 1952, tnoluded euch _ttena at $4,600 for hewspaper eduerttatng, #10, 000 for printing Coats, $12,500 for overheod, postage and sclartes,. $7,000 for | degal fees and $12, 000 for printing o Suprene Court (ortef. it has Deen reliably reported ‘that up until the date of the Rosenbergs ' execution the HCSJRC rateed approximately $300,000.
