Ll. ieCaffrey and Special Agent J. M. Tovler where it was learned that the article had been written by =. J Loower of the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle who informed Special Agents . bid information had been received from rumors and that he could not point to anyone who had started this story. ot The Agents, however, located one W. H. Greqn who we advised that he had heard that a travelling man named Fr eed, living at Anderson, South Carolina, and who at one time had‘worked - - in Oklahoma, hed informed one UM. H. Watt that Floyd and several - companions in three big cars, believed to be Cadillecs, had been seen Jeet at the Austin Filling Station near New Providence, Tennessee, on July «2° 6, 1933, and that this travelling man hed talked with Floyd who stated ~ that he was enroute to the state of Georgia. re 7 as a woos Ps bir.
