Your attention is invited to the attached clipping from the Bgltinore Sun of July 8, 1933, referring to one James "Fur** Sammons. Jt was therein stated that his reputation as a Capone machine gunner won him position number seven on Chicago's list of public enemies and that he was indicted in Baltimore for a payroll robbery seven years ago.. Sammons is in the custody of the Sheriff's office at Kansas — City, Missouri. He was arrested through information furnished by Special Agents of this Bureau in connection with ea wire tap on a certain home in Kansas City. The home in question is the one to | which cots and certein other furniture of a similar neture were : moved from the residence occupied by Verne 4iller, for whom there - is an “dentification Order outstanding in connection with the Kensas'City Plaza killings. The wire tap disclosed thet a certain individual ef this household had sent out for some clothing that was being cleaned and pressed, saying that he had to have it immediately as he wes leaving town in a hurry. Upon receipt of this informetion Specie] Agents of the Buresu, accompanied by members of the Sheriff's steff, entered the house and took Sammons into custedy. Sammons has declined te give any information as to his whereabouts on June 16 and 17, but there is no direct evidence implicating him in the Kansas City mrders.
