tee So,
It did not take long for Esther to get the number. She talked for a short
time and then told me the party to whom she was talking wanted to converse
with me. I do not recali that Esther told me who was on the wire. When
I took the receiver end degan the conversation, the man talking called me
Frances. I did not recognize the voice of this man. Our conversation was
as I have related in my previous statement. After completing my talk with
this man, I turned the telephone over to Dick Galetas. During this con-
vergsation, Galatas told the man on the wire that a change head been made in
the mode of transportation used in moving my husband. I recall that I
heard Dick Galatas tell this party that the train was to be used in moving
my husband. I did sot hear him say where they were taking my husband, Ror
aid I bear him say where they had put him on the train.
Mr, Turrou end Mr. Brantley have questioned me concerning telephonic
-onvereation from the place of business of Jake Orsen in Wenona, Illinois
ao June 11, 1933, to Kansas City, Missouri. I did not make this telephone
all, and if my deceased husband made it, I do not know about it and he did
.ot tell me anything concerning such a call. ds is mentioned in my previous
statement, both my deceased husband and I were in Wenona on that date, but
i spent most of my time with Jake Orsen'ts wife and with his mother. ;
I want to say thet I did not make any telephone calls from Hot Springs
on June 16, 1933, and I have mede only one call from that point, and that
was at ebout the time of my marriage, when I called from Hot Springs, my
cousin, Jake Orsen at Wenona, Illinois. 7
Dick Galatas did not tell me he had made any telephone calle during
:he afternoon of June 16, 1933. However, while I was at his home that
afternoon, heard the telephone ring several times. When Galatas was taking
me from the tourist camp in Hot Springs to hie residence in the same city,
he stopped two or more times, but I do not recall the places at shich he
made such stops.
Mr. Turrou and Mr, Brantley have questioned me concerning a trip I
made with my deceased husband, from Chicago to New York City. Sometime
during April, 1932, as well as I recall, I wes with my deceased husband
in en automobile accident, near Chicago, at shich time he sustained a
fractured arm. He was not satiefied with the treatment rendered bim in .
thie injury by the Physicians in Chicago, and some time around Tankegiving,
shortly prior thereto, I believe, he told me he was going to New York to ~
some hospital to have an operation. He took me with him to New York and we
made the trip by train. I stopped at the Picadilly Hotel, located on West
Forty-fifth Street, while my deceased husband was in « anal} hospital a
few dlocke from the hotel, but the name of which I do not recall. I bee
lieve that we spent epprozimately a month in New York City.
