The next day they went to Little Rock, Arkansas, ani Miller registered for all three of the men at the Marion Hotel on Markhaz Street. Shelton stated that he haa no recollection of the names used, or the nuuber of the rooms occupied. He claimed they stayed there two daye; that Miller and Wiseman may have disposed to counterfeit money there but he does not know this to be a fact. He stated that these two men had given him genuine money and that be hed sufficient funde upon arrival at Little Rock. He atated that in Little Rock he contacted Tex Nugent, a professional base- ball pitcher attached to the Little Rock teen. He stated that from there the three proceeded to Fort Smith, Arkansas, end spent the night there at one of the ler eer hotels, the name and address unknown. Fran there they went to Muskogee, Oklahoma; thence to Tulsa, where they spent two days at the Tulsa Hotel. <All three wore registered by Miller. Shelton was unable to furnieh the names under which they wre registered; that the room which they occupied was lecated on the second floor. He olaima that in Tulsa they contacted a man known to him as Vern ABrothers, an alleged ex-convict. He doea not know where this cone tact wae made. Shelton states that while at Tulea he began amoking marihuana and wes under the influence of this narcotic for two or three woeks and is unable to give a coherent story of where they proceeded after leaving Tulea, but that some tine later he remembers that they were in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and that Miller regis- tered for the three in a hotel near the capitol grounds; that they occupied Room 413 for one night. | Shelton cleima that he contacted a man whom he knows ” as Henry and who he claims is a professional ball player playing firet base for the Harrisburg baseball team; that he contacted thie man to determine the whereabouts of ons Elan Vangilder; that thie man Henry called Shelton on the telephone at the hotel, advise- ing him that YVangilder was in Dallas, Texas, playing baseball. ghelfon claims that they stayed at Harrisburg for two days and then went to York, Pennsylvania; that he again began emoking marihuana end does not remember what heppened, but thinks that they went through Columbus, Ohio, and to Toledo and Monroe, where he was arrested.
