Dear Sir: Recently, when Mr. Herold Nathan, Assistant Director of the Division, was in Kansas City, I took up with him the question of remunerating Mr. EertfHaycock for valuable services he has rendered this Division in connection with the investigation of the Union Station Plaza Massacre case. Mr. Nathan agreed with me, and sug- gested that I address a communication to the Diyjéion to that effect. owt. For the information of! fhe Division, it may be noted that M-, Haycock, Special Agent of thesSouthvestern Bell Tele-' phone Company at Kansas City, Missouri, he béing the only employes in that capacity with the telephone company in this vicinity, in hia capacity as Special Agent at all times has rendered immediate service to this office in checking either long distance or local telephona calls. He has made arranzements for telephone taps to be instituted by the telephone company itself. He has always been available, not only in the day tire, but at night, on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and holidays, phen he would not ordinarily be working. He is a grest lover of golf and has foregone week end golf games on many occasions, in order to cooperate with this office, nS \ . In addition, Mr. Haycock was a former police cfficer at Kansas City, Missouri, and is unusually tell versed with the operations of locel criminals.
