MEMORANDA
Special Agent in Charge Ladd telephoned from Jonesboro,
Arkansas, this morning. He stated that Agent Turrou is progressing
very nicely.
In connection with the investigation concerning Mr. Turrou's
accident, ifr, Ladd advised that a Mr, Herrot anc a Mr. Trumann, rho
were Oriving behind ‘ir. Turrou, had advised Agents that they observed
Mr. Turrouts ear head off into the ditch, but they were certain that no
cer persed him. Furthermore, Agents were unable to find evidence to
incéicate that the car had been sice-swiped. Mr. Ladd stated that Mr.
Herrot has a good reputation, and is ea bookkeeper on a large planta-
tion. I instructed Mr. Ladd that if there were no further develop-
ments at the end of the day the investigetion might be discontinued.
