Re; Vernon c.(usiier, et al Obstruction of Justice(Endeavor to deliver Federal Prisoner Frank Nash) Dear Sir: In accordance with Division letter dated August 4, 1933, making reference to the case entitled *UNKNOUN SUBJECTS, Obstruction of Justice (Endeavor to deliver Federal prisoner Frank Nash), on November 28, 1953, agent Cal- houn interviewed Ollie Jack!Madding, a prisoner at 4 the Federal Penitentiary, Leavenworth, Kaneas. Madding atated that he is serving four yeare at that institution, having been sentenced for viclation of the National Motor Vehicle Theft act, at Kansas City, Mis- souri, in April, 1933; that he served previously in the Refor- matory at Granite, Oklahoma, for bank robbery; that he served in the State Penitentiary at Mc Alester, Oklahoma, as No. 21,297, having been sentenced in 1921 at Durant for assault with intent to kill. He advised that he gave information to former Govern- or EB. M. Trapp of Oklahoma regarding the Walter 0. Quinn gang and thereby received a parole. Madding stated he desired to be given a parole from the Federal Penitentiary in order that he might locate Wilber Underhill, Fugitive. When asked how he happened to know Underhill, he stated that he hed lived in Oklahoma for years, and thereby became acquainted with him and knew him in the State Penitentiary in Oklahoma. He stated that he mew Harvey J. Failey at Seminole, Okle., and that he saw him sith HerboFarmer at Kansas City, Missouri, about two months before Balley was caught at RROORUED -QtG (or DEC{ 121 1933 U. S. Dl F est tosis w
