The following information is being furnishe
information of the Division in connection with the recent activities
of this office in an effort to apprehend Wilbur Underhill, sud ject of
I. 0. No. 1192: 6
On December 14th Special Agent Birch of thia office, while
at Ada, Oklahoma on another investigation, obtained information fran the
Sheriffts office that Wilbur Underhill and Bruce faredy, brother of Bob
UBrady, had been at Ada the previous night and that Bruce Brafy displayed
a large roll of bills in a store there. The Sheriff's office further ine
formed Birch that Underhill and Brady, when leaving Ada, had departed in
the direction of Seminole, Oklehoma and that the Police at Seminole were
supposed to be in possession of infomation as to the approximate location
of a hideout of Underhill. Birch was instructed to immediately proceed to
Seminole, which he did in company with a Deputy Sheriff, and on arrival
there found that Chief of Police Jake Sims of Seminole and the Sheriff
from Ada, Oklahoma had been making inquiries at a place about fourteen
milea from Ada; that Sime and the Sheriff had information that Underhill
hed been seen with one Houston/Nash and Sims and the Sheriff went to the
home of George tiash, father of Houston Nash, to ascertain from George
Nash where Hou¥ton Nash's house was located; that on arrival at George
Nash's house, they noticed a tan colored 4-door Ford Sedan in the reer of
Nash's house and from the 1935 Oklehomea license plate No. 344-251 thereon
identified it as being the aame car which wae alleged to have been used in
the holdup of the bank at Coalgate, Oklahome a few days previowa, end that
while telking to George Nash, Wilbur Underhill slipped out of the house, got
in the car and drove away. Chief Sims and the Sheriff both stated that
everything happened so quick and that they were not expecting to find Under~
hill et this house, end that they had no opportunity to shoot him. \
