MEMORANDUM FOR THE SIREGTOR : With reference to the attached | suggestion that re leg proceed with the investigation looking toward the indictment - of Tonf Carney and one Bobjfrout on a charge of harboring .the fugitike Galateas, I talked to Agent in Charge Conroy, of... - Kensss City, who states that they have absolutely no evidence _ to warrant the arrest or indictment of either Carney or Trout ~ ... on this charge. Carney admits having seen Gelatas eround the — first of August, et which time he states they knew nothing, whatsoever of any charges against him. Trout does not recell when he saw Galates. He drove Galatas' Cadillac car to Hot Springs in Auguet et the instruction of Carney. ( The Kanses City Office is proceeding with the in- vestigation end if evidence is discovered which will werrant ection egainst either of these indivicuels, Sppropriate ection will be taken.
