Director, VERNON 6° MILIZR, (deceased)
Division of Investigation, etal; Conspiracy to
U. S. Department of Justice, Deliver Federal Prisaer
Weahingtor, B.C.
Dear Sir:
On the night of January 22, 1934, SAC Colvin, Oklahoma City,
telephoned the San Antonio Office that yimClerk, former 1.0. #1192
and Delmer, both of whom participated in the last escape fram the
Penitenti at Lansing, Kansas, on January 19, 1954, head two days pree
viously left the vicinity of Pawhuske, Okle., and were ostensibly headed
for McAlien, Texas. SéC Colvin advised that they were driving a black
Plymouth coupe with red wire wheels, motor PD 91556; that it bore Texas
1933 license plates 617-773. Only a meager description of Delmer was
furnished.
Contact was immediately established with all peace officers in
Mefilen, Texas, and vicinity. Through the immediate cooperation of Chief
Patrol Inspector of the U. S. Immigration Service in that vicinity, it
was ascerteined that 1033 Tems license pletes 7617-773 were issued to
Beulah Jackson, McAllen, Texas, for the Plymouth coupe above described.
Investigation developed that Beulah/Jackson did not reside in
McAllen, although a woman by that name had betn in that vicinity during
the summer of 1933, and she wes elleged to have been from Miami, Okla.,
and thet she head formerly been married to one George L.| Wright, present
whereabouts unknown, and who is an ex-convict from Okl ; that this
merriage was supposed to have been consummated at Miemi, Okla., some
time in 1918; that George L. Wright has a brother by the name of Ed
[Wright, who formerly lived in or near McAllen, Texes, and who when last
heard of was working in a garage at San Juan, Texas, and who had formerly
worked for Inman's garage at McAllen.
A thorough investigation at McAllen failed to locate the present
whereabouts of George Ll. Wright or his brother Ed. Wright. Thinking that
possibly the{Inmen garage at McAllen, due to the similarity of the name,
might have some connection with the Oklehoma outlaw vet }Tamen, now alleged
to be in jail at Seminole, Okle., a thorough investigation was made of
thet angle and it developed that there is no connection b
garage and the aaa Inman. ‘
