When interrogated efter ”_-- his arrest, Turner denied knowing Nesb, although the information obtained from - informants in this case is such that hia statements can be entirely discounted. It will also be noted dy offices which have not received such information, thet at the time of the Hollend Bank robbery @ hitch occurred in the get-away, when . tke robbers' car, a stolen Studebaker, was blocked in an elleyway by an irate woman who wes driving her car and believed that the bandite' car was that of- sone local young men. at that time an elaborate chert was recovered by the euthorities, showing the route to Chicago, Illinois from Holland, Michigan, over a Circuitous route which did not go on the main road at any time and only ¢rossed this road on one or two cccasions. & laboratory analysis fram the -- Division indicated that there is reason to believe that the typerriter which prepared this note is identical to the typewriter which prepered the ransom note in the Erezer case. one of the cheracteriaties of thie typewriter, it Willi be noted, is the fact that the letter "1" is not used in meking the figure one, but that there is a figure one on the typewriter. From thia and. other data it appears that this typewriter may have been a Corona portable . typewriter, end it le underetood thet an engineer's keyboard hes the fleur one. a In regerd to the information that Romer was believed to have" married e Chicego girl in 1923 or 1924, Foley said thet it is his belief thet Homer was married about five years ago to a Catholic girl who was uneware of. Big Homer's hoodlum activities. ~~ a, et. te ae 4 Foley also denied that he had called tnefeus whoa he accused of being e participent in the Fansese City massacre, Gus Stone, but said that . he had not intended to refer to this individual by that name. In the report — of special agent R. A-Alt, Jacksonville, Florida, 2/25/54, Foley gives in-" formation as te the location of Gus in Chicago, indicating that Gus received . his mail eat a ciger store on Madison Street, in all likelihood the one at — 1234 West tiadison Street, operated by Joe Green, which was revealed by arthur « Johnson alies "hed® price, and whieh was investicated by agent, who at that time, however, obtained no information. He aiso indicated by a check on a: -. mep about the locality where Gus Stone or Stevens lived in 195], and a search for this place will be made in the near future. It is interesting to note thet Foley cleims that he knew *Red" price, which is an elias for arthur Johnson, in Chitego, and that Gus Stone had peid price to kill a men, which Price feiled to do, and in consequence Stone had threatened to put Johnson on the spot®, which so frightened Johnson that he started to return to the Colorado State Penitentiary, fron which he hed escaped while serving a life sentence, wiring thet ne wes returning. Hovever, Johnsor did not return to the peaitentiery but was picked up in Selt Lake City and returned.
