She was shown the pictures of the . ar various suspects but could identify nohe. She stated that she could identify the picture of BasiWBanghart, who is under indictment for the kidneping of yohn Factor and wno is wantec for a nail robbery at Charlotte, North Carolina, es a forner tenant in her building, who wes arrested by the Chicago police in . the spring of 1933 but who was later released, and that she could obtain no _ inforsation regarding this arrest from the police end hed thought it was pos-. sible that Banghart hec in fact been teken from her building by rival gangsters. She wes askecé about other suspicious persons who might have occupied apartments in that building, which is devoted to one, two and three room furnished apart- ments with hotel service. sere ig no cafe or dining room attached to the building, however. She stated thet ahe had only one large nan of wham she was suspicious, end that this individual's name was Charles Orlford, 510° to or tall, weighing 250 lb., had graying brown hair and blue eyes. br. oriford stayed et her epertment for one week in order to attend the tiorldts Fair, and : he Was accompanied by his wife. ‘hese people would not allow the maid in thetr at apartment when they were out. she believed that orlford wes about 45 years of —. age. There were no children with orlford, however. She said that she did not: — know what type of car orlford drove but believed it was @ large car. She seid that she had looked this man up end found he had @ telephone listed in his neme and had called Anderson, and he had told her oF that : Oriford wes entirely satisfactory. 4 When questioned regarding Mi. ty. wurphy, urs. Brockamp paid _ that this couple (Mr. and Mrs. Murphy) was one of the most satisfactory she -<_ had ever had. She described Murphy as about 5°10 or 11" tall, having derk brown hair, hazel eyes and weighing in the neighborhood of 200 1b. She des- cribed his wife as being a large woman, about 5°68" or 9* tall. She said there were two children with this couple, one a boy who wes between nine and eleven years of ace, and the other a girl about five years of age. These parties rented a tro-room apartment which contained a separate bedroom, on June 6, 1935, by placing e deposit of $10.00. They moved in on June 14, 1935. Ina the meantime
