within the last few months killed a Special Deputy Sheriff at Summerville,
this being the officer who hed killed the Parham boy. Tom Parham, .-
according to Taylor, was convicted at a recent term in Summsrvilie for
the murder of this Sheriff, lr. Taylor added that en acquaintance of hie ..- ~
had recently gone to the Parham farm to purchase some liquor and subseqvwnt-
‘ly told him that he saw two men at the Parham farm whose identity he did
not know; that these men were oleaning a gun which might have been ea |
machine gun and Mr. Taylor stated that in view of the fact that the
Parham family was reported to have come from Oklehoma he thought it. 2.0 0...

ty. Taylor steted that he had no descriptions whatscever
of these two men and he further refused to divuige to agents the name of
the person who bad seen these two men at the Parham farm. Mr. Taylor was

that so fer as he knew the Sheriff, T. A. Cook, knew nothing about these ©
persons, He, also,mentioned that the Sheriff's wife is seriously 111 _
at this time and that the Sheriff is spending all of his time at her... ~
bedside, 30 Agents were unable to contact Sheriff Cook, Mr. Taylor - —
mentioned that he is a sslesmen, unemployed at the present time, and that .
he knows nothing about Floyd other than what he has read in detoctive
stories, He, also, seid that he had never heard that Floyd originally
came from Georgie. br. Taylor also mentioned that in the near future it
was his intention to go to the Parham farm for the purpose of buying sane
liquor and that he would then communicate with the Birmingham Office, .
advising if the description of these men, if they are still there, coincided |
in any manner with that of Pretty Boy Fhoyd, whose photograph he stated :.
