On Saturday, May 2, 1970, he observed about 400 to 500 people located in the Commons at about 8:00 PH. Someone rank the Victorv Bell and someone proposed that the group go to the ors to secure more students for the rally. After nderstocd soneone to propose that the students go to resiacnt WHITE's house. This did not materialize. “advised that he was standing in the area of a group went to the vicinity of the ROTC Building. Ue observed sone peonle throw stenes at the Building and believed this groun vould nusber aboit 50. Ne moved to the middle of the Cormons but was still approximately 103 yards from the ROTC Luvilding when he observed flares being thravn at the Ruilding and saw soncaae ignite a custain in the ROTC Bullding. This was approximately 6:30 or 8:45 PM, ery He observed fire men arrive and noted that their hoses were severed. Ne could not identify any of the individuals responsible for throwing stones or setting fire to the ROTC Building. It was his impression at this time that the fire had terminated and he returned to his room but subsequently observed that the fire was re-ignited, On May 4, 1970, he did not attend his 9:45 AM class About 12:G0 noon, he was located on the sidewalk in front of Taylor Hall. He observed a number of people on the Commons iu virco arcana of the Bell. He could not identify any of thes individuals who were speaking at this time.
