the letters

LIVEZLY
were
brought
to the
attention of
Assistant
Prosecutor ALBERT
SCARDUZIO, Camden
County
Prosecutor's
Office, Camden,
New Jersey,
¢ Mr.
SCARDUZIO advised
that he
does not
see any
way
subject can
be committed
to mental
institution for
psychiatric
evaluation unless
he voluntarily
signs-own commitment
papers.
SCARDUZIO stated
that the
normal procedure
for having
someone
committed in
New
Jersey
is for
a close
relative, residing
with him,
to have
subject examined
by
one
or more
physicians
who
would
recomend
committal based
on examination,
The commitment
would be
for
a temporary
ten day
period
following,
which
the
individual could
be committed
permanently upon
the recommendation
of the
institution and
proper papers
signed
by
a
county judge,
SCARDUZIO advised
..
'
that
as
LIVEZLY
lives alone,
has no
close associates
or relatives,
he does
not feel
this could
be accomplished;
SCARDUZIO pointed
out another
way oi committing
subject
would
be
if he
were arrested
on local
charges and
the arresting
agency, at
its discretion,
could immediately
commit the
individual for
a ten
day temporary
period. This
could be
made permanent
upon the
recommendation of
the
institution, SCARDUZIO
pointed out
that on
the basis
of
