(D/R 5-4-48, G-2 10-27-47; 100-2&760-9, p. 2) According to an article in the March 24, 1945, issue of the "Daily Worker” Lillian Hellman was the principal speaker at a dinner held in her honor on Mareh 22, 1945, and sponsored by t'e Joint Anti-Fascist Kefugee Comittee. The article advised tiat in her talk Miss Mellman had stated that Spain's tragedy was followed by the tragety of millions everywhere, and that Soviet people had suffered more than others.
