FOLEY International Neva Service Staff Cotrespendent WASHINGTON, April 5.— ‘The House Un-American Ac- tivities Committee was on record today that Academy “award winners Jos& Ferrer and |Judy-Holliday have been af- filiated with from five to 10 ‘Communist-front organizations. 1, The commitiee made public a Jong list of names, including more than a score well-known in the fields of entertainment, © literature and art which it iden- tified as sponsors of groupe which participated in the so- called Communist peace offen- sive. : Ferrer also was Hsted by the committee as one of 49 persons: who gave “open support to Com-, munist candidates in election campalgns.” The committee emphasized that} it has no desire to charge any in- nocent person with having Com- munist affiliations. It said it would publish the names of any individual who has withdrawn fr6f these organizations or. whose name was used without his' permission or knowledge. f PEACE’ SPONSORS. Ferrer and Miss Holliday last week were given Oscars as the out-| standing actor and actress of 1950. Both were listed by the House Committee among 540 sponsors for the Scientific and Cultural Con- ference for World Peace, held in New York March 25-27, 1948.
