1. Reference is made to Colonel McCoy's informal proposal
&) that certain fighter aircraft be mintained on a continuous alert
status, within the Zone of the Interior, to aid in gathering in-
formation on Flying Discs,
2. This proposal is congidered unfeasible for the following
reasonsi
a. The outlay of aircraft and personel would be too .
great. in relation to the results obtained,
b. Proper interception is not possible, except by acci- Vin
dent, without complete radar coverage. The Air Force is incapable CN wf
