This article reflesced that ELIJAH MUHAMMAD ig a man who has been preaching unity among the Negroes. It i8 re suprise therefore,to learn that he and his teachers sre deeply cuncerned over the picketine last week of erophet JONZS meeting at the Communiiy Center, This action, eupposediy oy "Moslems" neither had the sanction or the approval cf Mr, MUHAMMAD, The article continued thet the Moslem leader was/disturbed thay MALCOLM X, Minister of MUHAMMAD's New York Temple of Isiam, wrote a letter of apology te Prophet JONES in which he explained that "A Moslem is never the aggressor,” The article quoted MALCOLM X as explaining that Mr, MUESMMAD's purpoge is “not to divide our people against each ot.er but to unite us... ® The February 14, 1959, issue of “The Pitteburgh Courter", New York edition, page nine, contained an article Similar to the article above mentioned, "The Fittsburgh Courier", New York editden, of | March 21, 1959, page four, columm three, carried an article eaptioned "Chare+es Get Police Aid." This article was datelined Sprirgfield, Massachusetts, and atated that the Police had vowed to render any assistance within limitationa ef the law to Negro churchgoers if it was true that members of ELIJAH MUHAMMAL's Moslem sect continusd to annoy them, This article stated that MALCOCIM X, National Leader, had stated that same pastors had ordered their church members to stop reading Negro newspapers especially "The Courier which carries a weekly column by Moslem leader ELLJAH MUHAMMAD.
