Ia this public statement MALCOLM X urged Negroes to abaadon the doctrine of non-violence when it is necessary to defead themselves in the civil rights struggle, and he also suggested that Negroes form rifle clubs to protect their lives aad property in times of emergencies in areas where the goveramesat is usable or uawilling to protect them. Incorporation papers of the MMI filed om March 16, 1964, with the Business Section, Clerk of Courts, New York Couaty, New York, New York, reflect that the MMI was iscorporated uader the Religious Corporation Law of the State of New York to work tor tae imparting of the Islamic Faith and Islamic Religions ia accordaace with “accepted Islamic principals." the priacipal place of worship to be located in the Borough of Manhattaa, New York, New York. During an appéarance over KYW - Television, Cleveland, Ohio, om April 7, 1964, MALCOLM X stated that the MMI does aot stand for integration, but for complete freedom, justice, and equality for Negr2es. He stated that Islam was the religious philosophy of the MMI, while the political, ecomomic and social philosophy was black sationalism. On May 15, 1964, a confidenatial source advised that the headquarters of the MMI are located in Suite 128, Hotel Theresa. 2090 Seveath Avenue, New York City, where they were established on March 16, 1964.
