NY 105-8999 2 On December 21, 1964, a public rally was held at thé Rutibon Ballroom, New York City, sponsored by the OAAU. MALCOLM X, the main speaker, was introduced to the audience as Chairman of the OAAU and leader of the MMI bl ‘ MALCOLM spoke on Africa, particularly about the natural resources in industrial potential of that continent. He said that the economy of Western Europe and America are dependant on Africa and would collapse if their interests in Africa are lost. This he claimed is why the United States and Europe are interested in keeping their foothold in Africa by supporting the Congo Government of MOISE TSHOMBE. 1 Ly t pet ft: i MALCOLM X praised the Mau Mau, an anti-white terrorist group that formerly operated in Kenya and indicated that the Mau Mau was needed in the United States ~~. win freedom and equality for Negroes. He also claimed that black peopie in America should align themselves with biack people of Africa.
