a Ea So ae aE Vilbjalmur Stefansson Collection BID r ; (| DARTMOUTH COLLEGE < = BAKER LIBRARY * HANOVER : NEW HAMPSHIRE “ February 1, 1965 Mr, Edgar Hoover, Director Federal Bureau of Investigation . Washington, D.C, Dear Mr. Hoover: IT know that your Bureau is cognizant of activities of this agitator who speaks under the aiies of Male His threats and vredictions of the use of armed force ana the coming bloodiest sum- fi. mer this country has ever known is declared sedition for the purpose ft of ‘ntroducing anarchy. If it doesn't, what does? Is there no way / in which his activities can be legally stopped? I heard this man speak at Dartmouth College January 26 and am enclosing a report of it in the College paper. This gives you an a@&x- callent and accurate statement of his speech. It lasted 1; hours, Notes were used but it was essentially extemperaneous, It became obviously boring to a large proportion of the audience. There were about 1,509 in the auditorium, some seated in the aisles, and about 509 were turned away, The audience was mostly students with a relat- ively small number of the townspeople present and a few of the fac- ulty. I thought you might like to have a report which you can depend uvon, You may recall that I have written you a couple of times be- fore this when livine in Scituate, Mass, I have given information to members of your Bureau a number of times in the past. The enclosed brochure will give you an idea of the anthropolpg- {cal work I am enzased upo an explora - ions. Wy home address is with high admiration for the superb work you and your Bureau have done for our country and best wishes for its long continuation and success, I am .
