to answer charges brought against him if the FBI requested .

not he appeared in New Haven in this matter is a decision
that was entirely his own to make, that whether or not”
his testimony would be of benefit to the FBI was subject
to question, but that any assistance he voluntarily
gave the FBI in this cr any other matter would be
appreciated.

he would not voluntarily appear as a witness or sur.ender
himself to answer charges.
