A characterization of the SwP-Scattle Branch is attached in the Appendix saction of thig xeport. . "The Militant", dated 2/8/65, Page 3, contained an article captioned "Radio Inter#iew with MALCOLM x". The srvicle indicated that HARR NG, Miiitant staff Writer, who has beenwriting a Series of news conmenvensiec cver Radlo Station \BAI-FM in New York, devoted his entire program of Canuary 28, 1965, to an interview with MALCOLM x. Excerpts from this interview follow: RING stated to MALCOLM X "Let me ask you a question about a problem that disturbs many White’ supporters of the Freedom Now Movement. Why do you reject the concept of non-violence?" MALCOLM X stated, "Well, we think that when non-violence is taught to the Kiu Klux Klan, the White Citizens Council and these other elements that are inflicting extreme brutality against blacks in this country, then we would accept it. If we are cealing with a noneviolent enemy, then we would be non-violent,tco, put as long as our people in this country have to fece tunis continued brutality on the part of the racist elemmt in tne North as well in the South, then we do not thir we sould be called upon to be: non-violent when they «re non-violent, we. will get non-violent.” a The Klu Klux Klan is designated pursuant to Executive Order 10450.
