These records further reflect that HUROK was listed as a guest to be seated on the platform at a rally held under the auspices of Russian { ee War Relief at Madison Square Garden, New York City, on a June 22, 1942. The report of the Special Committee on Un-American Activities, House of Representatives, a 78th Congress, 2nd Session, pages 364 - 365, reflected the following: "Communist Party, under whatever name it has operated, has maintained front organizations and conducte enterprises for the sole purpose of carrying on propaganda on behalf of the Soviet Union. Some of the more important of these frants and enterprises have been .... Russian War Relief." These records further reflected that S, HUROK was on the mailing list of the American Council on Soviet Relations (ACSR), New York City, February 17, 1941. The ACSR has been designated by the Attorney General of the United States, pursuant to Executive Order 10450. A pamphlet entitled, "Investigation on Un- American Propaganda Activities in the United States, Special Committee on Un-American Activities, Huse of Representatives, 78th Congress, MARTIN DIES, Texas, ... Chairman’, ..reflects..on -page.-1202.that.5..HUROK was a.]..J- 05.5 - sponsor of a Congress of the National Council of American-Soviet Friendship, Inc., 232 Madison Avenue, New York City.
