At 5:03 D.m., the subject left the Lyric Theatre and waiked to the Pennsylvanis Station where he purchased a ticket and boarded Pennsylvania Railroad train "The Embassy" which departed for Washington, D. C., at 5:30 poem. OL @ Miscelianeous On August 22, 1955, T-1, who has furnished reliable information in the past, advised that the subject hed told him he had spent two days during the previous week at the office of CHAKLES RECHT, 10 East Oth Street, New York City, on business matters concerning the Soviet Embassy. T-1 stated that VeSHCHUNOV had told him that a number of persons prominent in the entertainment world were attempting to get wisas to travel in Among the ,pergons ne y VESHCHUNOV were MAKILYN WONROE, BING /. ROSBY, FRA INATRA, RHONDAXPLEMING, and CANLTONYSMI'CH. cording to t informant, V CHUNOV stated that ‘some of these persons had telked with him relative to the above, but he did not identify which had done so. VESHCHUNOV then told informant that these contacts were in the nature eof a feeler to the Embassy to ascertain whether ea visa would be granted if the above persons could produce passports.
