On 6/3/76, MIKE ROYKO, well-known author and columnist
for the Chicago Daily News, advised that he received a threaten~
ing letter dated and postmarked 6/2/76, from the subject. The
letter stated, "Dear Mr. ROYKO, I won't be calling you any more,
but you'll be hearing from me other ways. CORLEONE.'' ROYKO
advised that the subject has been calling him and barging into
his office at the Daily News since March, 1973. ROYKO advised
that he determined that the subject was a mental patient who
kept escaping from a mental institution and contacting him using
the name MICHAEL CORLEONE. ROYKO further advised that the sub=
ject had always used cryptic remarks and veiled threats such
as contained in the letter. ROYKO furnished the letter and en-
velope advising that this was the only letter he ever received
from the subject. The letter is maintained in the Chicago file.
