He ‘ stated that he and his wife, SARAH, recently deceased, had received a _ few letters from their son during the first few weeks after his move to California but that since that time, they have received no word of any Sort from the subject. Mr. COREN also stated that to the best of his recollection, : tne subject nad indicated in his Letters That ne was Living in @ small town in the Los Angeles, California area. The subject had also advised that he and his wife had worked on a small farm for a short time, and the last information received from subject was that he was doinz some sort of private teaching. Mr. COHEN advised that VA compensation checks continue to come addressed to the subject at 2020 Walton Avenue, and that he has been holding said checks'until such time as he is able to learn the subject's whereabouts and turn said checks over to the subject. In conclusion, Mr. COHEN stated that his son's long unexpleined absence had been the cause of considerable concern and sorrow to his late wife and himself and that it was also likely a contributing factor WW ob LEAL ALLE SD Utah I IWS VAIL VIVAGEL LeaALblie ne Saved vlal Lik subject had always been a fine son and a good boy, and that under the circumstances he was at a loss to explain the subject's long absence, He stated that inasmuch as he and the subject haa always been on friendly terms, he felt sure that he would be the logical one to know the subject's nherezbouts if anyone would . Los Angeles is requested to contact logical informants and exhibit a photo of subject and his wife, and also to conduct any other appropri ate investigation in an attemrt to devel oD information eoncer subject's whereabouts. It is to be noted that a photo of aubect ‘and ~ his wife was sent to Los Angeles aS an enclosure to relet, San Francisco is requested to review records of the California Motor Vehicle Bureau for any information which may be available concerning subject.
