enclosure. It was kind of you to give me the benefit of your obser-
vations.
For your information, the FSI, at the request of
Myr. rred M. Vinson, Jr., Assistant Attorney General, Criminal
Yivision, Lepartment of Justice, conducted a limited investization
to determine if the National Rifle Association should have regis-
tered with the Clerk of the Eouse of Representatives as a lobbyist
in connection with gun control lezislation.
The results of our investigation have been furnished
to the Criminal Division, Cepartment of Justice, and you may wish
to contact that office. I can assure you that the FBI will continue to
cischarge its responsibilities with the same high Cegree of impar-
tiality, thoroughness, anc dispatch which have characterized our
investizations in the past.
