November 9th, 19 Fellow Sportsman: We are in the midst of the hunting seasons end therefore our guns are foremost in our activities...AT THE MOMENT In three weeks, the deer season will be about. done. Our puns will be oiled and returned to storage for next yeer. Our thoughts will turn to the hustle and bustle of Christmas, snowblowers, overtime at work .and just about everything other than the shooting sports. There are some pveonle who do not forget about our sport! Each end every day it is in their minds. Many of these are the reslly dedicated of the hobby. Indoor target work, rabbits send fox pursuit in snowy fields, planning of next year's trip, looking to taking their sons on their first hunting ere the thourhts. However, another small, but dedicated grouv is sbout] These are the people with thourhts contrary to free use AND ownership of ALL guns. Like the one rotten annle in the barrel, it will svoil the whole barrel. It has to be removed before all is lost. With anvles, it can be svotted easily and quickly removed. However, with peoole, it tskes longer to find and remove the snoilage. There sre those of us who have worked long and hard to find these peonle, vrovide the fectusl education to alleviate the myths in their minds. Working for the best of legislation for all, we've msnaged to work in. . . “e are a very tired bunch! At times, we wonder whether we are really doing much to helo our sport. We feel that we have done our part. We look for veonle to take over the losd and fight! Very few come for-~ werd, so renewed dedication is our only answer} vOU, the nimrod and experienced, can REALLY D9 YOUR PART...NOWL You have all heard of the National Rifle Associstion. Many of you have thought of joining, from time to time, but have not. Some of you may only know of NRA trough the daily press AND verhaps in a bad light. NRA has been behin: every gun owner and free citizen for NEARLY ONE HUNDRED YEARS. They have trained shooters in eccuracy and in the best of shooting sefety. They have provided the best in open competition on ranges. Many of our nation's heroes in fighting for freedom and keeping it have been NRA trained. They have fought for decent legis- lation at all levels, favorable to ALL citizens. In essence, NRA is e MAJOR part of our preat heritage. I think that it is sefe to S8Y>» and history vorove, that this one organization has been foremost in keeping America free, | ; 7 ‘Five past vresidents of our great country have been NRA members. Now, e sixth is about t: ‘ake office. Richard Nixon is a LIFE MEMBER of NRA. Another vreat hero can be spawned...with YOUR help. 119-6 t- /8
