York City, which made reference to an operation Robeson underwent in November,
1955, Enclosed with the letters from Friedman were communications from 2 >
ee doctors who attested to Robeson's inability to appear in Washington on subpoena ‘

for the reason that (1) he cannot travel and (2) he cannot make public appearances #
because of the adveree effects such activity might have on the condition of his heart,©
He is also, one doctor stated, afflicted with a urinary disorder. One of the doctors;
said Robeson was confined to his home because of the above. —
