He met us at once with a smile on his lips and

The travelers, who came from London with hin, had
been watching him for a while, as he was waiting for his bags
at the customs. A ,young Woman came up to him with an envelope.
PAL ROBESON took it and thus siqned his first autograph.
In the hall of the airport, people recognized him and we

The car which took us to the hotel followed a road
which ran along the festival grounds, P. ROBESON saw the
fiags which were being raised up the poles, had a glimpse
of the colors hoisted on the thousand and one stands and

Hardly had our friend reached his room, when he
confided to us how glad he was to see us again, and he added
that he had another reason for feeling happy: his brother
was in Paris and they were going to meet.
In the restaurant a few minutes later, the head
waiter soon managed to make us understand that he also knew
the reason for the trip of our guest and that, like us, he

Several times during the meal received marke
