Washingtone This dinnsr took place on Jamary 12, 1943. a On January 19, 1%3, Confidential sntorant MT whose reliability b7 L is not questioned, advised that AIC ROTHBART of of the CPA Waterfront Section of Kew York City, conferred with BENJAMIN Js“DAVIS, dre of the Harlem Section of the CPA, and ROTHBART told DAVIS that he, ROTHBART, had talked with JOGH (JOSHUA* LAURENCE) who thinks that PAUL ROBESON should be invited to a meet— ing on Janudry 30, 1943. ROTHBART informed DAVIS that PAUL ROBESON was a menber of the nu, not of the Communist Party, and JAMON-DAVIS pointed out that PAUL ROBESON was interested in seamen regardless of any politics. Consequently, DAVIS said he would invite ROBESON 6n the same day.
